Position: .NET Analyst

Location: Chicago,IL

Duration: 6 months

 

Demonstrated experience with .Net development, system analysis and documentation will be required.

 

 

Developers on the team will be expected to have strong .NET C# background with a clear understanding of how to document their own development activities (code) as well as unit and component testing.  Experience with .NET V 3.5 and SQL Server 2005 – 2008 triggers and stored procedures is required.  Proven ability in .NET front and back end development including detailed design, analysis and development is required.  Exposure to methodologies is highly desired.  However, proponents of Agile or any other single or specific method will not be happy in this CMMi Level One environment.

 

 

 

Team will be implementing some degree of development standards (example waterfall) and documentation but will not evolve to an overly process-oriented organization.  Nature of the work at the School changes rapidly due to research and academic trends and a nimble organization is desired by staff and faculty.

 

Applicant must meet ALL of these requirements.

 

Description:

 

Consultant role will be to assist Director and team to document existing systems and processes, create code tables and unit/composite test repositories and/or document detailed designs. The role is not requirement gathering, team leadership or project management.  Director has strong desire to draw a bright line between past tenure and his present leadership and solve some immediate problems.  Solving the problem with lack of documentation will go a long way to creating a sustainable, cross functional team.   Vision of the role beyond the contract documentation period is that the individual can join the team as a mid to senior level .NET Developer using a contract to hire format.  As such, the permanent role—after documentation project is complete--will be senior level development with .NET C# and organization would like to leverage team members experience with other tools on front and back end including ASP, JQuery, scripting and other web oriented languages.
