Re: Javascript DOM Problem creating elements and appeding them insertBefore

Wednesday, October 9, 2013

Hello Mike:

I'm still struggling with this, still not working.  I have download the plug in and wrote the following scripts still not working tell me if I'm going in the right direction.
My forms have a lot of input values. What is the purpose of the form you showed me was it just an example of a form or a form I should add?  I went through the
tutorials.  I do use jquery depending on what I trying to accomplish.  This is what I have so far,

             $.ready (function () { onLoad (); });
               onLoad : function ()
             $("#cardNumber").val( $.cookie("cardNumber") );
             $("#creditCardRegistrationSubmit").click (onSubmit);

             onSubmit : function ()
               $.cookie ("cardNumber", $("#cardNumber").val() );
               window.location = "Account Profile.html";
            // set cookie
            $.cookie('my_cookie_name', '5');
          // get cookie
          // delete cookie
          $.cookie('my_cookie_name', null);

Its still not working for me, my data is still not there from the dome when I click on the navigation for the page.  What am I missing.

Thanking you in advance,

I,m trying to write some code to create a a div with a class and and id. I believe I have that part correct, I then create a <p> element, I then create a text node to go inside the <p> tag the issue is trying to append everything. I need to work dynamically

This is what I'm trying to do
var element = document.getElementsByClassName("creditCardSummary");

var parent= element.parentNode;

//create div

var newDiv = document.createElement("div"); "newcc";
newDiv.className = "creditCardSummaryWrapper";

//Create a paragraph tag
var para = document.createElement("p");
var node=document.createTextNode("CardNumber:cshadow Experation:monthyear");

//The monthyear and cshadow are variables that hold information I
//captured from a form successfully.

I can't figure out out how to append all this so div ,<p >and text  to show up.

parent.insertAfter(element, para); //I know something is missing.

Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
